They are building blocks to get content created faster. Eg: a subscription form, a Call-to-Action, or a Price List.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/block-pattern\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"13271532\">Learn more on how to use Block Patterns<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/block-pattern-directory\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"14644359\">Block Pattern Directory<\/a> has a myriad of block patterns that work with any site.\u00a0Themes can reference patterns from the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/block-directory\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"13176189\">Directory<\/a>, without loading them with the theme on every site. This helps to share block patterns from one site to the next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is now possible for designers, site builders, and site owners to share their creations with the world and submit their best designs to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/block-pattern-directory\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"14644359\">Block Pattern Directory.<\/a> This is a great way where #nocode contributors can share their creations with the WordPress community, in addition to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/photos\/\">WordPress Photo Directory<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to submit a Block Pattern\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before your start, <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/patterns\/about\/\">check out the guidelines<\/a>\u00a0for successfully submitting your pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep placeholder content to a minimum, a few lines will be enough to demonstrate most blocks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use a descriptive name for your pattern. Names like \u201cTest\u201d or \u201cMy Pattern\u201d will be declined.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is how to create a new Pattern and submit it to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/block-pattern-directory\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"14644359\">Block Pattern Directory<\/a>:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create an account on <a href=\"https:\/\/WordPress.org\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/WordPress.org\">WordPress.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you log in, go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/patterns\/new-pattern\/\">Pattern Creator page<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the page, you find a stand-alone <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/wordpress-editor\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"11284616\">block editor<\/a>, where you can create your Block Pattern by adding and arranging the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/blocks\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"11284652\">blocks<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give a <strong>Title<\/strong> for the Block Pattern.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/files\/2022\/11\/Screenshot-2022-11-28-at-11.48.47-AM.png\" alt=\"Add title for the Block Pattern\" class=\"wp-image-16242000\" width=\"728\" height=\"393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/files\/2022\/11\/Screenshot-2022-11-28-at-11.48.47-AM.png 971w, https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/files\/2022\/11\/Screenshot-2022-11-28-at-11.48.47-AM-300x162.png 300w, https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/files\/2022\/11\/Screenshot-2022-11-28-at-11.48.47-AM-768x414.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\">\n<li>Now populate the canvas with the available <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/blocks\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"11284652\">blocks<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the Block toolbar and block settings sidebar to configure the blocks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save draft<\/strong> to save the pattern as a draft. When you are finished click on the <strong>Submit<\/strong> button.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you click the <strong>Submit<\/strong> button, you will be prompted to give your pattern a <strong>Title<\/strong> and a <strong>Description<\/strong>. Make it distinct and helpful to the reader.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, you will be asked to select a <strong>Category<\/strong> for your pattern. Categories help people find patterns and determine where your pattern will appear in the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/wordpress-editor\/\" data-type=\"helphub_article\" data-id=\"11284616\">WordPress Editor<\/a>. Depending on the state of your pattern, you will see the following options in the drop-down.\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Open in editor<\/strong>: You can open the pattern in the editor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Revert to draft<\/strong>: This is for submitted patterns only.
