This plugin got a simple task, that is to stop spam, hopefully 100%. What this plugin does is modify the comment form on your website, adding new field and renaming others. We call it a spambot trap.<\/p>\n

Spam bots fall directly into this trap because they fill out the wrong input field, and they dont even know it. WHen a spambot fills out the wrong field they will not be able to post the comment and will just see a white page with a message about your site is protected by Super Simple Anti Spam.<\/p>\n

No javascript required for users.<\/p>\n

False positives. This is not possible (we have not been able to make false positives) unless people stop the website from loading, do not allow css to be viewed or they manually input into wrong fields. Trackbacks: False positives is possible, chance is low.<\/p>\n

Requirements: The plugin requires the theme to follow wordpres guidelines for themes in order to edit the comment form, most themes does follow this<\/p>\n

Notes: If you have a theme with custom css for the input, it might get changed. In that case i suggest you contact and we will try to find a solution.<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. Upload super-simple-anti-spam<\/code> directory to the \/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code> directory.<\/li>\n
  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

    Does it stop all spam?<\/h4>\n

    It is designed to attempt to stop all spam, without any annoying stuff for the users (or you). We can never gurantee it will stop all spam.<\/p>\n

    What about trackbacks?<\/h4>\n

    Trackbacks is a bit special, its not a comment and is not something that can be moderated the way this plugin works. Currently trackbakcs can be posted without the plugin does anything. This is something we are looking into. Trackbacks should now be scanned and stopped if spam. Not 100% effective, but close.<\/p>\n

    Why dont i see any changes when installing?<\/h4>\n

    The only change you as admin and \/ or user will see is the comment author field is moved down to last place (normally its first thing you fill out). Sometimes you do not see this change either ( depends on other plugins ). If you want to test if the plugin is installed. Right click anywhere and select \" Show Srouce \" - Search for \"ssas-author\" or \"ssas\". If you find one of them and its a input field. Then it is installed. To check if its working, try to post a comment. Note: you cannot simulate a bot comment by just posting a comment. You will need to edit a bit to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n
