Smartlinker is a toolbar on the WordPress TinyMCE editor that enables you to\nhyperlink words and phrases in your blog. Type word\/phrase, select and right\nclick to get a list of hyperlinks (see screenshot<\/a>).\nA word\/phrase can be the name of a person, place or thing. The web pages (17.2 million) are crawled from the world wide web.<\/p>\n\n

The choice of a web page is guided by criterias like availibility of a picture describing the word, quality of description,\nformatting and lack of advertisements\/popups on the web page. The objective is to pick web pages that have an \"educational\" feel. The hyperlinks are not<\/strong> ads.<\/p>\n\n

This is release 3.0.<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. Unzip 'smartlinker.3.0.zip' and upload the 'smartlinker' folder in\n'\/wp-content\/plugins\/' on your server<\/li>\n

    How does the hyperlinking work?<\/dt>\n

    Select Word\u2192Right Click\u2192Hyperlink. Or Select Word\u2192Press\nSmartlink button\u2192Hyperlink.\nIf the word\/phrase is present in the inetlinker database, a list of hyperlinks\nwill be displayed. Click on the Preview\/Hyperlink at the right(or left, wherever\nspace) of each hyperlink.<\/p><\/dd>\n

    What criteria was used to \"pre-select\" the url (or hyperlink) for a term?<\/dt>\n

    The web pages have been \"crawled\" from the world wide web.<\/p>\n\n

    When I try to hyperlink, the \"Link Status Indicator\" button gives me \"JSonRequestError: Bad Response\" (Firefox) or \"Bad Response\" (IE)<\/dt>\n

    There are temporary connectivity issues with the http:\/\/www.inetlinker.com\nserver\nor the server is down. Please refresh the browser<\/strong> and re-try\nagain after sometime.<\/p><\/dd>\n

    I cannot see the Smartlinker plugin on Wordpress after activating the plugin. Why?<\/dt>\n

    Please try refreshing the browser on the WordPress Editor after enabling the\nplugin from the \"Plugins\" screen. If it still does not work, close all\nbrowser windows, remove the \"smartlinker\" directory from the\n\"wp-content\/plugins\" directory, and reinstall the plugin from\nhttp:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/plugins\/smartlinker\/. That should do it.<\/p><\/dd>\n
