Hello, I will fix this for the next release, thanks for letting me know.
What is your PHP version? Because there is usually this kind of error when you use an older PHP version.
Thanks for that.
I have WordPress 4.9.4 running and I have updated oceanwp every time I have had an email that there is an update available.
I have been very busy on other things and have only just got around to learning about WordPress again. I tried installing Ocean Extra ahain. However now I have an error message when trying to view my site: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/uydrtacp/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/ocean-extra/includes/dashboard.php on line 49″.
This is all very frustrating.
Hello, it is your PHP version, upgrade to PHP 7 and that will fix the issue.
I have upgraded to PHP 7 and tried to install the plug-in but I get the following:
An error occurred while installing Ocean Extra: Could not create directory. /home/uydrtacp/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/ocean-extra/.
Incidentally the info on the plg-in says the following:
Requires WordPress Version: 4.5 or higher
Compatible up to: 4.9.5
so people could not be expected to know they needed PHP 7.
Hi, everything is up to date? Have you tried to install Ocean Extra manually via FTP? It seems weird that you cannot install a plugin.
Sorry for the delay. Managed to find a way to get the data back after updating everything else and it works fine now. Thanks.
Hello,
Had the same issue as stated above with oceans but now I can’t even get into the dashboard to make any changes or upgrades.
Hello @ngrant12, have you contacted your web host to know what is wrong? If you can access your site via FTP, enable WP-DEBUG to see if there is an error.
