• I’ve been working with the PayPal Sandbox to get eShop up and running but I’m having problems with the status of the orders within eShop. All test orders are failing. I read the thread (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/237352?replies=14) which indicated the fsockopen() might not be allowed on the host. Since I’m running my own webserver, I did some research on my PHP installation and found some test php code to verify beyond a shadow of a doubt that fsockopen() is allowed and is working.

The orders are confirmed as completed by Paypal but within seconds of clicking the final pay now button, the status of the order within eShop changes to failed. Are there any other things I can check to resolve this before I go live? Is this a bug? Am I missing something?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank You!

if you are using the latest version of eShop there should be an explanation in the email the eShop automatically sends to you. If that doesn’t help, feel free to forward me a copy at [email protected] and I’ll see if I can help.

Actually, your comment brought up another problem I was having. I wasn’t getting any email from eShop when I made a purchase. So, I went back into the system and setup the eShop admin email (general tab) as the live email account and put the buyer’s email at the PayPal Sandbox into the Merchant Gateway account for Paypal. Still wasn’t getting any emails, so I added the buyer and seller test email accounts as aliases to my live email account. Once I did that, I finally got an email from eShop.

Here’s the some of the message I received:

Subject: Testing: Paypal IPN – Invalid and Failed Payment Ref:
Detail: Paypal has reported an invalid, and failed payment. The pending reason for this is paymentreview
    pending_reason: paymentreview
    test_ipn: 1

Interestingly enough, the payment shows as completed on both the seller and buyer test accounts and the money moves from one account to the other.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

PS: I’m going to forward a copy of the whole message to your email account.
