    Hello —

I’m wondering if there are any plans in the next update to have plugin recognize the data-pin-description attribute?

When pinning images to Pinterest, the alt text is what’s currently being pulled for the image. Alt text description are for use with screen readers for the visually impaired (providing a description of what’s contained in the image).

Ideally, pin descriptions are contained within the data pin description.

There are many of us who are excited to use this as an alternative to Social Warfare because it’s so stable and lightweight. But the inability to pull the data pin description for pins is a major issue.

    Thanks, Natalie

That’s awesome Robin! Do you happen to have an approximate date for the next update release?

    Thanks!

Thanks for your patience on this, Natalie. I hope to have the next release out within a week, maybe two. The Pinterest button has gotten somewhat unwieldy and I need to check and make sure the parameters are all correct and where they need to be. I’m also making sure that the plugin will do what it ought in Gutenberg, at least at a minimal level.

Right now, I’m planning to add the optional Pinterest description in the same area as the optional Pinterest image, although you can use one without the other. I may need to work on the descriptions to make sure that’s not too confusing.

This has been added in version 2.2.0. Thank you for bringing it up!

I so appreciate your responsiveness Robin! We’ll be recommending this plugin through out the Simple Pin Media community! (I’m the operations manager for Simple Pin). Also, MaAnna Stephenson highly recommends your plugin for being lightweight.

So excited to have found the perfect solution for social sharing!

Woot!!!! Thanks so much for requesting this feature Natalie, and for making it available Robin.

My client group is blowing up with the news!!! They love this plugin as much as I do.
