• Hi guys,

I last edited my website in March 2018, and i changed the hosting recently to iPage, and wanted to log in to make some changes so I can get it up and running. When i try and enter my website ‘nemacitymarketing.com/wp-admin’ it does not load up for me and says 404 Error.

Do you know the reasons why?

    Thanks in advance

    Dilan

  • Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    It’s not pluigns. 🙂

If you look at your ste it’s actually easy to see what the problem is.

From what I can see, you’ve updated your doamins nameservers to point to your new hosting account, but that hasn’t propegated around the internet yet, so you’re shwoing a new “coming soon” page instead of your actual website.

The only thing that can be done is to wait. The changes are normally ready in an hour or two, but depending on many factors outside of your control they may take up to 72 hours to fully propegate so you can see the new hosting.

@catacaustic it’s been 6 days since I changed hosting and it is still down with the same problem. I will try resetting the plug ins like @cleancoded said and see what happens.

I’m not seeing the same problem. What I’m seeing now is the “white screen of death”. That means that there’s a configuretion problem somewhere in the site.

In your wp-config.pp file, change the value of WP_DEBUG to true and see what errors are shown. When you get that worked out change it back to false to hide any errors.
