    Hi,

one of our clients has tons of images in a flat structure uploads folder (no year/month folders). This is starting to cause problems, so we’d like to move the files into year/month folders or split them up into whatever structure without having 1000s of images in the root uploads folder. So we need a way to move the images and also have some sort of automatic update mechanisim for the database so all links point to the new image URL. Is it possible to do this with this plugin? Do we have to use it in combination with JoomUnited’s WP Media Folder plugin? If not, do you have any alternatives in mind to achieve that?

Thanks a lot for your help,
    cheers

    Hi,

With WP Media Folders you’ll be able to change manually each file path.
But if you have 1000 image it will take a lot of time as you’ll have to edit each image.

In addition to Joomunited’s plugin you’ll be able to grad and drop images you in virtual folder as you want to organize them.
My plugin will reflect the virtual organization in an actual one, all files will be moved to actual folders and database will be updated accordingly.

If you’re idea is to automate moving all images depending on their exif data or created timestamp it will require a custom script then.

    Best regards
