    Hi,

I’m really new to website design so apologies if this question sounds silly!

I followed the advice provided in the plugin to create a google adsense account, got an adsense code then I inputted this into sitekit.

Google then said they found the code and are now reviewing my site – and that this process can take up to two weeks.

It has been longer than two weeks since I did this. So is this normal? I don’t see any option to contact Google directly about this which is why I was hoping to seek some advice here?

    Kind regards in advance,

    Tim

I’m curious: did you see instructions to place the Adsense code on your site in your Adsense account or in Site Kit’s admin screens?

Currently, I see Site Kit’s Adsense code snippet and also the one you may have manually placed on your site. There should only be one there, hence why this console error is present in the browser: https://jmp.sh/GYzEA00

Feel free to remove the one you’ve manually placed which may help move the process forward at Adsense.

    Hi Renee,

    Thank you for replying!

I saw the instructions on the Google Adsense account page telling me to place the adsense code into the SiteKit admin screen.

So Google Adsense generated a code for me, then told me to stick it in SiteKit. They then said that they’d found the code and have been ‘reviewing my site’ ever since.

    I hope that makes sense?

Regarding the duplication, that’s strange. I don’t remember placing any code manually anywhere other than into SiteKit. I think the search box on the homepage uses some google api as it autocompletes an address search then will find that location on the map. Could this be the issue?

I wouldn’t know how to manually remove one code as unfortunately I don’t remember inputting one. Would you be able to describe how I should remove it?

    Sorry to be a bother!

    Kind regards,

    Tim

I have got the plugin ‘Ad Inserter’ installed as I thought this was the most user friendly plugin to use. I haven’t done anything to it other than install it yet though.

    Could this be an issue?

I’ve taken some screenshots that may help describe my issue, but I can’t attach them here.

I just signed up that jumpbox site you used and uploaded them there:

Hopefully the links work and it will help describe the issue.

    Thanks,

    @timmy321 thanks for the details!

So Site Kit doesn’t have an area to place the Adsense code snippet. It inserts the snippet for you which can be toggled on and off with an option in the settings (Site Kit > Settings > Adsense > Edit > Let Site Kit place Adsense code on your site): https://jmp.sh/6BKXx9h

Perhaps the other code was placed in Ad inserter as you mention? Another place to look would be in your theme settings, and though a bit technical, potentially in the header.php of your active theme files.

I see! Now I remember, google asked me to place the code in the header.php (of which I had no idea how to do) so I installed the ‘insert headers and footers’ plugin and placed the code in there. I’ve attached a screenshot here:

I’ve now removed this and kept the ‘Let Site Kit place Adsense code’ option on:

Could this have been the problem?

    Kind regards,

    Tim

@timmy321 that must have been it because I no longer see the additional code snippet- great troubleshooting!

I see only Site Kit’s Adsense code on the site, so this may help move things forward.

We’re limited on the support we can provide for review and approval process, but you can always reach out the experts at the Adsense Help Center if you have questions about that.

    I see!

Thank you very much for your help Renee!
