No support? & Performance issues

    Hi,

    I’ve sent you a couple of emails already (Cristian – PixelYourSite <[email protected]>) but they’re unanswered, yet we’re using Pro. The form on the website is also not working (clicking submit doesn’t work).

    Anyway, we’re trying to optimize the performance of our website. For this we’ve disabled the track videos events and some other events we don’t need. However, the vimeo.js script and youtube scripts are still being loaded.

    Anything we can do about it? We’ve been able to deload vimeo.js but youtube is still there. Any other suggestions for us to reduce the amount of scripts loaded? Also, can analytics be hosted locally to leverage caching and minimize dns requests or do you recommend we turn off GA and use this plugin instead https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/host-analyticsjs-local/?

    Hello Sven,

    Please don’t ask questions about the paid plugin here, we are not allowed to answer them.

    I am not aware of issues with our contact form, we get messages all the time.

    It’s not possible to remove those scripts right now, but we will do implement this in the next update.

    Is not possible to host scripts locally. In fact we wanted to do this at some point and did a few experiments. The default setup with files served by Google’s servers was better almost all the time.

    Just a quick update, the last version will not call the Vimeo and YouTube scripts if the Signal event trigger for embedded videos is OFF.

    Awesome. Will you consider an option to host google analytics locally to increase performance even more?

    Actually we tested this scenario several times, and Google prove to be faster each and every time. I don’t think there is significant benefit from hosting the scripts locally, Google’s servers are usually better optimised and deliver the files faster. So the answer is no, we won’t add such a feature.
