I have a client for whom I purchased a Woocommerce extension `Referral System for WooCommerce by Codup’ but they no longer want to pay the annual $49 subscription fee for this extension. Would this result in a loss of functionality or just a discontinuation of updates/support?

You can continue using the extension after its expiration, but will not be able to receive updates and support for it.
