All I can see is “Remove Original”, in the media library, but no option to resize the original image which I’ve confirmed is beyond the max width and max height.

Searching on this feature request #13, I can read this as,

    – now part of Bulk Resize if “Delete Originals” is checked, the Bulk Resize will scan original image, resize and replace it

    – or it’s going to delete original images as part of bulk which I’m not sure I want to do yet as I’m not sure it’s safe which I’m asking about here.

I’m in the situation described in the bug request. Client uploaded huge images and I want to resize them down to a reasonable number size of 1080×1080.

    Thanks.

Currently, Imsanity does not use the original image for resizing. It will only scale the full-size version of the image. If you check the Delete Originals, and run a bulk resize, then all the originals larger than 2560 will be removed, and the full-size version will be scaled to 1080 (or whatever size you specify).

Make sure you take a full-backup prior, just in case 1080 is too small for the client. 1080px is a pretty “aggressive” limit for the full-size version of the images.
