Trying to change the mail email associated with my account and I never get the verification email no matter how many times I try to activate it. Not in spam either. Help!

Using HOTMAIL? If so, yahoo.com rejects mail coming from ww.wp.xz.cn. Use a different email provider for mail you want to receive from WordPress.

Use an SMTP plugin as that might help.

Are you using WordPress by default mail provider? If yes then instead of using WordPress as the default mail provider use some SMTP plugin. Because when there is some load on the server then the WordPress mail provider fails to send the mail. So use some SMTP plugins. I recommend the WP Mail SMTP plugin.
