    Good Day!

Your new plugin feature, HTML Sitemaps, introduced with RM 1.0.103 is buggy. Also, we have a few helpful feature requests.

We are using the Avada theme. This is what we’ve learned so far:

    Bugs:

    1. The HTML Sitemap links appear twice on our selected page (above and below our custom footer).

    2. When we select anything other than Pages and FAQs, the HTML Sitemap links do not display on our selected page.

    3. The HTML Sitemap links appear inline and do not respect the design (open space) created for the selected page.

    Feature Requests:

    1. Add an option to exclude Pages, Post, etc. via Page ID.

    2. Add an option to exclude content protected by a password.

    3. Add an option to list “featured” or special links via Page ID.

    4. Add a “No Index” and/or “No Follow” option to selected HTML Sitemap link(s) via Page ID.

Until the above is addressed, we have opted not to use your new feature. Instead, we’re using the plugin, WP Sitemap Page, which works great for us. Not promoting the plugin, simply stating we’re covered for now.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Thank you!

    Hello @generosus,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

For the bug, please see our responses below:
    1. Can you tell us which theme you are using?
    2. Which plugin are you using for the FAQ post types?
    3. Our links appear in the list format, so a screenshot might help

For the additional features, there are existing feature requests, so we’ve added your vote to our internal suggestions lists. We’ll be sure to let you know if your suggestions are something we can introduce.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi @rankmathteam,

Thank you for the quick reply.

    Response:

    1. We are using the Avada theme (mentioned in our original write-up).

    2. We are generating FAQ post types via the Avada theme (built-in feature).

    3. Yes, inline (or list format) is what we were referring to. Perhaps unique shortcodes can be created so we can position the HTML Sitemap links on our selected page per custom design.

Examples of unique shortcodes (proposed): [rank-math-html-sitemap-page], [rank-math-html-sitemap-post], [rank-math-html-sitemap-faq]. Result: Our HTML Sitemap. Note: Please consider using “dashes” (not) “underscores” for your shortcodes.

Concerning the feature requests, thank you.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

    Hello @generosus

We have been trying to replicate this using Avada, but we cannot replicate the duplicate pages being shown.

We even tried to add the shortcode and the option to add this in a page simultaneously, but the plugin is correctly showing only once the HTML sitemap.

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins, themes, and WordPress (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Only the site admin would know, and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Hi @rankmathteam,

Thanks for the follow-up. As stated before, we’re happy with our current set-up (i.e. using another plugin for our HTML Sitemap).

To avoid duplication of effort, we will consider troubleshooting your plugin’s HTML Sitemap feature once it matures and incorporates the additional (needed) features mentioned above.

    Again, thank you!
