Pinterest For WooCommerce Feed Deletion Failed.
-
After last update I was prompted to re-authenticate. My account got disconnected apparently so I followed the on-boarding process. I got the option to connect a new catalog or catalog already connected, so I picked the second one. Anyways, it apparently created a new catalog and now it’s conflicting with the one I already have connected. I’m getting this error now. Would you please advise on how to proceed.

Hi, @jaspix !
The error message you see is not a critical error, as it may look, but more of an “informational” error: the extension failed to delete the feed you had with Pinterest due to some active promo campaigns you have. This is a good thing; Pinterest wants you to retain your money. It is safe to dismiss the error.
The request to reconnect was caused by breaking changes in the new 1.4.7 version.
On the other hand, I see the problem with a new catalog being created instead of reusing the existing one. We will try to resolve the issue with Pinterest as soon as possible.
Thank you!
Thank you for your reply.
I noticed that the new catalog got ingested successfully. I’m not sure if it’s creating duplicated pins for the products that were already there. I hope I’m not spamming Pinterest.

Hi @jaspix
It seems there was an issue where it was created instead of reusing the existing one. We understand your concern about potentially creating duplicate pins and possibly spamming Pinterest. Our team is currently working on resolving this issue with Pinterest.
In the meantime, I would recommend monitoring your Pinterest account for any duplicate pins and removing them if necessary. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work on this.
Thanks!
+1
Good to hear you’re working on it!
Hi @jhmaths
Follow these steps to permanently delete plugin data when you uninstall it:
- Head to Marketing > Pinterest, then to the Settings tab.
- Find the Advanced Settings group, then the Debug Logging subgroup.
- Check the Erase Plugin Data setting.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click Save changes.
Next, go ahead and uninstall the plugin, then delete it. After that, you’re all set!

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
The problem is really serious, the new directory is connecting stably then the connection is lost. When I add it again, a new feed file is created, affecting advertising a lot. really bad two
I personally haven’t got any problems on Pinterest side. But I haven’t mess with the plugin or anything, I haven’t even added or removed a product just in case it could mess something up. Both the new and old catalogs are correctly synced and no duplicates have been created AFAIK.

Welcome back! Thank you for the update. It’s good to know there hasn’t been a problem on the Pinterest side. Can you confirm you’re running the most recent version of the plugin (1.4.9) and the issue persists? (It’d make sense since our developers are still working on this one, as far as I know).
Are both catalogs still updating? What’s the last update date for each? Could you please share a more recent screenshot?
Thanks!

Yes, the issue still persists. I’m running 1.4.9.

Seems like the previous catalog stopped being updated 10 days ago, but none of my products seem to have changed and I haven’t had issues with impressions.

Hi @purplelemur ,
Last ingestion went successfully, I believe my issue is resolved. I will still keep monitoring for a few more days if no more issues appear I will mark as resolved.

If your issue is like mine (only one error notification) and you didn’t try to resolve it yourself (not deleting the plugin and its data) then try the last version (1.4.10) @purplelemur posted above. It seemingly fixes the issue for me, so far no inconveniences have arise. I’m still waiting for a new ingestion with added products and the last version to be officially released on WordPress to mark this issue as resolved.
If your issue is not fixed with the last version posted above, please open a new thread.
@bartoszbudzanowski Brother you seem to be a coder, part of the team working on this plugin.
Please consider what I’ve written above: that feed deletion function is UNNECESSARY in an automated form. That could solve a lot of issues. Feed deletion doesn’t need to be automated, makes zero sense whatsoever, is not necessary for the merchant, not required by the platform (Pinterest) , as one can have several feeds and they don’t collide with each other, so what’s the purpose of the feed deletion algorithm ?
Thank you
Opening a new thread simply means the developers don’t take responsability for this issue, and it’s called redundancy.
No, it simply means your issue is different than mine, which is fixed. And you’ll do developers a favor if you document it with detail in another support thread.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but these issues simply stem from the existance of this feed deletion part
I guess it’s because url mismatch (which was my case) so either option of the two will do fine. As @purplelemur said above it will only enable/disable product sync option in the Pinterest settings.
But then again, my issue is resolved, if the fix posted above doesn’t do it for you open another thread as it may be a completely different issue despite looking the same.
Hi @jaspix
I’m glad to know that your issue has been resolved and we were able to help! I will mark this thread as resolved. Should you have further inquiries, kindly create a new topic here.
Meanwhile, if it isn’t too much to ask for – would you mind leaving us a review here?
It only takes a couple of minutes but helps us tremendously. It would mean so much to us and would go a really long way.
Thanks!
