Thank you for adding the CDN to shortpixel, very cool.

My question is: Is there a way to use webp CDN but without generating WEBP on the local server? For example, when you generate 8x jpg thumbnails, then choose to use CDN to deliver webp, that generates 8x more webp on the local server taking up space. Can you deliver webp from the cdn without generating webp on the local server?

Maybe a function/filter that can be used to delete or disable webp on the local server. Because this entire process create 2x the space (set of jpg thumbnails – set of webp thumbnails) – If anyone can help with this, that would be amazing.

    hello @strid3r,

Thanks for this suggestion! Please allow us a bit of time to see if and how we could get something like this in place. At the moment you can obviously remove the WebP images from your server, but I wouldn’t recommend it until a proper solution is implemented in our plugin.

    Hello @strid3r,

I’m happy to let you know that this feature has been implemented. When you enable the CDN delivery from our plugin, all the images will get their WebP and/or AVIF correspondents served from the CDN, as a fallback mechanism if these versions are not found locally on the server.

    Thanks again for the suggestion!
