    Good morning,

I’m using the WPForms Lite plugin on my WordPress blog. I can’t edit one page – I get the message “A critical error has occurred on your site.”

After disabling it, the problem disappears. I’ve checked all other plugins and themes, and this one is the only one causing the problem.

Please provide the information you need to identify the problem. Latest WordPress version, plugin version: 1.9.7.3, August 11, 2025 |

    Hi @notafilia,

Thank you for getting in touch. I’m sorry to hear about the critical error.

Please be aware that I was unable to replicate the issue when using WPForms 1.9.8.1 with the block editor. For your reference, here is a screencast.

Please update WPForms Lite to the latest version (1.9.8.1) when you have a chance, and let me know if the issue continues.

If so, please enable debug logs on your site and share the logs containing the error stack trace. In case it helps, here’s our guide with details on how to enable debugging in WordPress.

This may help us to understand the issue and provide further assistance.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I installed the new version of the plugin, but the error persists.

    Hi @notafilia,

Thanks for sharing the links to the logs.

However, there is no reference to WPForms or any fatal/critical error. I searched for ‘wpforms’ and ‘error’ (see screenshot), but got no results.

When you have a chance, please try editing your page again to reproduce the critical error. After doing so, check the debug logs, where you should find a record with details of the critical error. Then share that log with us, including the stack trace.

In case it helps, here’s a link to a support topic that shared a fatal error log with a stack trace.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

That’s strange. I don’t see any reference to this anywhere in the logs. The problem only occurs on one page. At most, I’ll “rewrite” it. I’ll try contacting the service provider, as it might be a problem on their end?

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hello @rsouzaam,

Clearing these entries from the database helped 🙂

    wp_wpforms_logs
    wp_wpforms_payments
    wp_wpforms_payment_meta
    wp_wpforms_tasks_meta

    Hi @notafilia,

Thanks for letting us know that clearing the data from those four tables solved the issue. While this is unexpected, I’m glad this action worked for you.

If you’d like more assistance with WPForms Lite, please feel free to reach out.

    Thanks!
