Discount and coupons

How do you offer a discount or coupon for a subscription that lasts the entire duration of the subscription? When I put a coupon in Woo and use it with a subscription, it appears that the coupon only discounts the first month. Can the discount be set to be for the life of the subscription, or set the discount be set to only last for a certain amount of time during the subscription?
