Can't get single-{posttype}.php to work

Hi,

I’ve looked around Google, and read a few posts/blogs of what my problem could be getting this to work, and I can not figure it out for the life of me.

Here is my custom post type code:

I currently have a file named “single_vgm-remixes.php” and it the post-type does not seem to want to display on that page at all. Stranger still, it doesn’t default back to single.php either, rather it defaults back to the index.php and doesn’t display ANY of the post information.

As you can see, my index.php query both posts and vgm_remixes, but even if I edit out the query for vgm_remixes all together, it still defaults back to a blank index.php.

Any suggestions that anyone has regarding this problem would be greatly appreciated.
