• I installed the Domain mapping program via the file manager, created a new MU plugins file under WP content added the domain mapping.php.

    Added Sunrise in WP Content.
Added the line in WP Config

Checked on my website domainname.com, everything is groovy.

Two subdomains are set up. They are rocking 🙂

I checked all the various instructions for shared hosting, which seem a bit confusing but normally I can make things work. All the sites are hosted on the same host.

Because I was testing I set them up differently.
I have http://RockstarGuideBooks.com parked and redirected to domainname.com and that domain appears
I have http://MJschrader.me as an addon domain and redirected to domainname.com and that domain appears.

Then using the mapping I add them. They do not point to the subdomains. They continue to point to the main domain.

If I try to make primary I get the

    “Not Found
The requested URL /wp-admin/tools.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

I have talked to my host they do not have experience with WP multisite but are willing to help.

I’d really like to get most of my blogs under one backoffice. Since two are MyDomain.com and MYdomain.com/blog I don’t think I can change those.

They have Simple DNS Zone Editor for me to use which appears limited in it’s capabilities.

Can anyone help me? Andrea? (Sorry I have seen you quite a bit in my search for an answer)

I think only moderators can move threads – just repost there and add a link here so people are aware. Good luck!

What host are you on? Do they use cpanel? What’s the main domain of the account.
FYI, a shared IP has no bearing. Yes you can domain map with a shared IP.

Y’all know I wrote an ebook on domain mapping, yes? (It’s paid tho)

Yes they use cPanel, it’s an independent host I have used, wow, since 2002.

Yes I checked out your book. 🙂 Money is tight. I am debating what to do. And the main domain is http://Rockstarmasterminds.com with the two being subdomains.

Andrea, after reading over your plugin again, I decided to get it. It hides the original site and allows me to have most of my sites with one update. Worked PERFECT

I may be emailing you later concerning my main site MJSchrader.com and my personal blog at MJSchrader.com/blog, that would rock to get ALL my sites under one admin office for updates.

    Thank you again Andrea!

    Thank *you*. 🙂 Email away.
