Media images upload problems

    I know this has been discussed before but I can’t find a relevant answer when I have searched the forum.
    When I try to upload an image of 262kb i get the following error
    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4864 bytes) in /home/blog_1/wp-includes/media.php on line 254

    When i try the flash uploader I get the HTML error in red.

    Can someone point me to the links with a solution to this problem.
