Checking subcategory’s parent – how?

    hi

    i’ve stumbled upon a probably very simple question and can’t find an elegant solution.

    How to check if a subcategory (through $cat) is a child af a certain category?

    I’d like to alter the display of all subcategories (macro, portrait, etc, etc) of 1 category (photoblog) and for that, creating 7 or 8 99,9% similar category-N.php templates isn’t cool 🙂
