Akismet API Key

Not sure if this is the right place, but hope you can help. I’ve activated Akismet and signed up for my API key (which I got via email). I then tried to go to my Akismet configuration page, and save your API key (by clicking the link right from my plugins page) and get this message: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

I contacted Akismet first, but they told me, “This is actually a problem with your WordPress install – it does not see that you are the blog admin.”

Any ideas how I resolve this?? I haven’t had any trouble installing this on other blogs. Would appreciate help!
