I can’t drag and drop in the widgets admin panel. I’ve turned on accessibility mode but if I try to add another widget the widgets that are already working, stop working.

I’ve googled around a lot and every page tells me to ‘disable every plugin, until you find one that’s causing the problem’. I’ve done that. And I found the plugin. Question is, what do I do next? I want the plugin, what can I do to fix the plugin to stop it messing up my widgets page?

Please help. Thankyou. I can link you to the site if needs be.

First, identify what plugin is causing the problem and then post in that plugin’s dedicated forum via its page in the Plugin Repository.

I would have done but the plugins author hasn’t replied to any topics there for about a year. I had a different problem with the same plugin and created a topic a few weeks ago and got no reply.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having such a tough time with this plugin but it does sound like the plugin’s author is no longer supporting it. What’s the name (or download url) of the plugin? Perhaps we can suggest something similar with better support.

The plugin is Advanced Recent Posts. I tried many similar plugins but this was the only one that gave me everything exactly as I needed it to be able to create this output here http://www.soddo.org/give/

I should say; I only noticed this sometime after modifying the plugin. It may have caused the error before, or it may have been a change I made, I’m not sure. But the only thing in the PHP I can remember changing is the ‘Read More’ text.

This plugin is being used in 2 widget areas, both custom widget areas that I added to a page template.

If you have modified the plugin, then I would strongly recommend that you re-upload a fresh copy of the unpacked plugin’s folder to wp-content/plugins using FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides). This will help to determine if your changes are the cause of the problems.
