Custom Template for Custom taxonomy single post

Hi,

I’ve created a custom taxonomy called books and I’ve created single documents under this taxonomy. However they are in sub categories such as novels, comic etc. I’m using a template for this taxonomy’s single documents and it’s single-books.php. Works without any problem.

Now I want to create different templates for different sub categories. So novels will have a different sidebar to comics. I also want to have a common template for all documents in a subcategory rather than selecting a template from a list with the help of a plugin.

Is this possible? If, please point me in the correct direction as I’ve tried many suggestions only to attempt and fail.
