How to Protect Uploads?

I’m creating a membership site where members are able to download zip files. These are all listed on a page that is protected by a membership level. The page itself is protected, but if anyone were to share the link to the actual zip files in the /uploads/ folder, they could gain access without having to purchase a membership. Is there any way to protect membership sites offering downloads?
