Formatting Issues

First of all, I have to say that this plugin has been a LIFESAVER! Very easy to configure and very easy to use.
That being said, I’m having one issue. I’m migrating over 3,100 posts and 4,400 images for my client from a Joomla 1.0 site. When the post is viewed on the WordPress site is has very odd linebreaks and code.
For example, see http://alpha.prepvolleyball.com/senior-aces-2014-the-prologue/
You will notice that it grabs the article from Joomla and assumes a linebreak (almost like a wordwrap in Notepad). It also grabs some garbage code too, but I’m guessing that might be from the fact that the client currently copies Microsoft Word documents into his Joomla 1.0 posts. Ugly.
Is there anyway to avoid this. I’ve pasted the code here as well.
We begin, for the third time, with a prologue. I have learned that when a list follows, most people choose to pass over the introductory comments and go right to the names. There are no names in this article, except for these 25, who JUST MISSED OUT on making our top 100 Senior Aces: <b><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif';">Ciara Appelbaum</span></b><span style="line-height: 115%;
