• Hi all, brand new to blogging and WordPress. I went with WordPress because of all the positive things I’ve read about it and it’s extendability. I have a question regarding SEO and WordPress. I have a website that has a header image across the top and a left column and then the main content area. The blog I’m creating for this site is going to be about the happenings on the site. I’d like to know if I should integrate the blog right into that content area of my site, or should the blog be “stand alone,” i.e., the blog reader is in the domain of the site, but not in the general template of the site.. I hope I was clear in asking the question!
    Thanks!

  • The question is clear – but only you have the answer. It depends how do you want to set it up. It could work in both ways, though integrating requires a little bit more work.

After looking at the site, I decided with the left column there, it would make the blog pretty squished for the low resolution peeps (800×600) Not sure how many people use that resolution, but for 1024×768 it would be fine if I had a liquid layout for the blog so it can stretch.. Do I lose any search engine brownie points by not having it integrated into the site layout?
