• eMails received from use of the contact form on a page show a return/from address of (example) “[email protected]” and replies to it fail.

It is not the address of the page author or any other user, rather it appears to be auto-inserted by WP somehow.

Where is it and how can it be edited?

  • Under Contact Form Settings, you should see a field that says [email protected], change this to the correct name.

    Is this ContactForm 7?

If that’s a PlugIn, I don’t have that. I just have the basic WP with JetPack and I don’t see any such settings.

ok, JetPack contact form. When you add the contact form, there is another tab , “Email Notifications” that has additional settings. There you can add a return email address and subject line on it.

I saw that, but it appears that is where to send the Contact Form to. Does the address you enter there also serve as the Reply to/from email address?

The issue concerns sending replies. As it is now, all replies are bouncing back regardless of the User entered email address typed in by someone using the Contact Form.

I want to be able to reply to people using the Contact Form.

Related, can that be edited on an existing Contact Form? Or do I have to delete it and enter a new form?

And since it’s JetPack, I guess I should have asked in that section, eh? 😉
