Deactivation Troubles

    First of all, I love this plugin!

    That being said, tonight, as I was trying to debug a problem, I deactivated WordPress SEO. Going back to my site, I found that my category archive pages returned 404’s. I freaked out. Then, I reactivated the plugin but, still, no joy.

    I went to my Menus (I have category pages as menu items), re-saved, and got my pages back. Not sure if the two things are related but that was the course of events.

    Anyway, my question is, is there a proper way to deactivate this plugin? I’m guessing it has to do with the permalinks settings. Is there a ‘reset to defaults’ somewhere that I’m missing? I need to finish debugging but I’m afraid to turn it off again.

    As an aside, deactivating WordPress SEO also removed my settings for BulletProof Security (.htaccess issue, I’m guessing).
