Simple vs Physical products

Simple Products doesn’t allow for shipping, where Physical Products do. And, unlike Digital Downloads, there isn’t an option to add files to a Simple Product either.

What I’ve typically seen Simple Products used for is something like billing. For instance, if you run a web design company, you can use the Simple Product type to create a product for an hour of your time then customers can purchase an hour (or more). I’ve also seen people use it as an invoice. You can hide it from the store, then send the product link directly to a client for them to pay.
