masonry not working correctly

Hello and thanks for the plugin!
I was really happy when I found it, but I can’t fix a problem which I have with displaying my gallery in masonry style.

Between my images I have a lot of free space, which I try to avoid. The images would fit in the free spaces, but they just refuse to float up there.
Do you know what I could do?
To get this result I checked “DO NOT allow jMIG to add any CSS that modifies your gallery or gallery items.”
When I uncheck this box, the images are displayed one underneath the otherpleaaase help me!
