what file contains posts?

    I have a blog that is no longer online (currently on hard drive) but I really need some info from some of my posts. I’ve think I’ve looked at every file so I wonder if this is a stupid question.

    What file contains the posts?

    I’ve looked through documentation and search for an hour now here on the site and have not found the answer. I’m quite sure it’s here somewhere but you can imagine the number of search results on this question concerning post.

    it not in a file, its in the wordpress database.

    everything for wordpress related to posts, authors etc are inside the mysql database if you did not back up the database and only have the php scripts you do not have your posts

    thank you for the reply. I made a backup of the database using the admin tools somehow (it’s been a while). Where is it located and how would I view it?

    oh, and I would have to do that from the hard drive. I do use linux so I’m sure I would just have to install the mysql packages. I’m search wordpress docs now to see if I can answer where and how.
