RSS feed stopped sending emails. In trying to track the problem, I installed a plugin called “Feedburner Stats.” It returned an error message: CAN’T PARSE XML.

So I apparently have an XML problem in my feed, and don’t know how to fix it.

A previous thread suggested a plugin called “Fix RSS Feed” but it’s only tested up to version 3.0.

    Any ideas?

Your RSS feed doesn’t send emails, it’s just a stream of XML data meant to be parsed by a feed reader.

What is the URL of your feed, and what are you using to send the emails?

As for “Feedburner Stats,” I can’t find any plugin with that name. Where did you get it from?

    Sorry, I wasn’t real clear.

I use Feedburner to send email updates.

    The plugin is https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/feedburner-stats-by-devmdcom/

    Feed URL is http://www.richsride.org/feed

    I appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

Ah, ok. That plugin hasn’t been updated in almost 5 years and is only compatible up to WordPress 3.0.5, so I wouldn’t put too much faith in it having any relation to diagnosing the problem. 🙂

Your feed is perfectly valid: http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Frichsride.org%2Ffeed%2F

And the latest post in your feed is http://richsride.org/2015/05/a-repeat-message-about-choices/ posted May 14th, so it would appear that the issue is on Feedburner’s end, and I recommend getting in touch with them about this.

Hi James…Thanks for verifying my feed.

I’ve tried contacting Feedburner, but they really don’t provide support any longer.

As an alternative, I set up an RSS-Driven campaign on Mailchimp. I’ve used MC to send newsletters in the past.

No luck…sends test emails, but they’re not received. I’ve tried several accounts…both mine and friends, to make sure it’s not an email client problem.

And now when I go back to a previous campaign that worked fine and try to send a test email, MC says it’s send and delivered, but it doesn’t arrive anywhere, just as with the blog posts.

I’ve tried switching themes, disabling plugins…it’s driving me nuts!

I know the date this problem began, more than 30 days ago, if that helps.

Further thoughts? Thanks for the help.

You’ll have to check with MailChimp then.

WordPress only provides the feed, and yours is valid and working perfectly. If the emails aren’t being sent, the problem is with the service sending them emails.

Thanks, James. It helps to know what the problem isn’t.
