How do you add menu and use this theme?

1. how to add logo and description to left sidebar? When I add logo, description dissappear. OR is there any way how to use html in description.
2. how to add menu to left sidebar?
3. i have a problem with updating article. I update article, but i only see article picture and no other text. I tried add a few lines or many lines but no success. It looks like no changes are made to article. But in article editor I see correct text.
