500 error on wp-admin when activated

I’ve been using this for a long time. Im on a cpanel server and cpanel just updated for me over the weekend. The plugin caused a ton of httpd instances to start up and then after bouncing the box and getting the site back up I could not access the admin of the site. after removing the plugin from the file system I was able to get back in. There are no file or folder changes in this plugin more recent than 4/22/2015 for me. Any idea what would have caused this or how to fix it?
