I am trying to do a new fresh install of version 4.2.2 on Mediatemple hosting. I am getting the Database Update Required looping message. I have tried a range of of the suggestions listed here, and still don’t get any success. some of the suggestions talk about everything from info in files, to hiding the plugins directory, and others… This is an out of the box install. It SHOULD work… Any current ideas?

@misterq Most like there is some issue from server side. Fresh WordPress installation should not take more than 5 minutes to install. Does your web host provide one click installation for WordPress? I suggest you to move all your contents from your account and then try to install WordPress. If problem still persists, you should contact your host.

If there is no content to lose then delete everything, and do a fresh reinstall.
