• Hello,
In simple terms, I registered a domain at hostgator.com, went to quickinstall it as a wordpress website via the cPanel, and cannot access the admin page for it.

So, in more simple terms, the url I’m trying to access is http://cerberusrifleworks.com/wp-admin (the dashboard login for the website I’m trying to create, and have already registered over at hostgator.com ). Instead of getting the normal wordpress dashboard (screenshot of what it should look like is here: http://imgur.com/Gu4jgfn ), I’m being taken to what appears to be a stock website that hosts ads (screenshot of what it actually looks like here: http://imgur.com/S3pj8KM ). I’d be fine if I got a 404 error, as that’d just prove the website was updating to the wordpress servers. My concern is that cerberusrifleworks.com in general just looks like a pre-made, generic website, despite the fact that I’ve already manually registered that domain, and successfully installed the website and gathered the login cridentials (I even screenshotted the cridentials it gave me as proof. You can find that screenshot here (user/pass blacked out, obviously): http://imgur.com/i2bfecE ).

I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong here. Between the domain being registered to me first, and installing the website, as well as receiving the confirmation email, I feel like I haven’t missed out on any steps. Normally, I’d just wait this out, but as I mentioned earlier, there’s no 404 error.

Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

It seems to be working well for me. I can’t log in obviously (and please do not give me your password), but I can see the log in form.

When a domain is registered or altered, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain name is passed to internet service providers all over the world. This process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less). During that time, your domain may go to its old location, and you may also receive a warning message in your browser about “redirect errors.”

If you still have trouble viewing the site after 72 hours have passed, please try clearing your browser’s cache.

If that doesn’t work, try clearing your local DNS cache: https://support.opendns.com/entries/26336865-Clearing-the-DNS-Cache-on-Computers-Servers-and-Web-Browsers

It appears to be working for me now, thank you infinitely for your quick reply, and have an awesome day!

(And yeah, I suppose the whole propagation thing just seemed different from last time I tried it. Perhaps I should have waited a little bit longer before making this post – sorry about that – ).

Edit: Unfortunately, the login information doesn’t work. Like, at all. I’m assuming Forum PM’s here would be the best place to resolve that, or perhaps emailing would be more beneficial… I’m not sure, but for now, I’m assuming the former.

No, we don’t have any more access to your site than you do, so PM’s (which we don’t have anyway) wouldn’t make a difference.

    Try this: https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Resetting_Your_Password#Through_phpMyAdmin

You’ll be changing the password directly in the database, and you’ll find your username along the way.
