Make a Top Menu in header

I’m trying to make a top menu above everything else when using this theme but for some reason I can’t figure how to do that. granted I’m not the greatest wordpress user there is and still amateur but everything else seems so easy until i try this. I’m not sure if it’s where i’m only using the basic version and not the pro version and I can’t do this with Basic or what.

What I’m trying to do is set up my page a bit like one the showcase users.. http://www.silentcrusade.com and setup a twitch status on that top menu just like they have. They have two menus.. one on the top in a transparent bar and one on the right side of the screen right under it.

So basically guys.. I know this may seems like a stupid question but like I said.. amateur here.. who can help me figure out how to do this.
