I haven’t personally seen anything that would prevent it from working, so it’s likely something else in your setup that’s interfering.

It wouldn’t be a basic plugin like those that interfered. Due to the wide usage of the plugin, there are numerous little things that could cause issues, and in many cases I suspect user error (some users don’t realize that there are only 2 added options, don’t activate the theme first, etc.). It’s difficult to debug without more information or a link to the site having problems with it.
