• In attempting to move my blog from populationstatistic.com/wordpress to just populationstatistic.com via the General Option interface, I changed the URI in the “WordPress Address” field instead of in the Blog Address” field. As a result, I can’t access my WordPress backend stuff, and most of the permalinks for posts, comments etc. on the blog are broken.
I’m guessing I have to FTP directly into my site, find the wp-config file and edit it to get access back? Anyone have any experience with this happening to them?

  • Use phpmyadmin – it’s not the config file.
Open phpmyadmin, and search for ‘/wordpress’ – that should show the correct table (wp_options I think) where you can change the url’s.

Sorry, you lost me. What is phpadmin? Is it an editing program?

Yo–nevermind, for some reason I was able to get back into the WP admin functions, and fixed all.
But Podz, thanks for the tip on phpadmin. When I get beyond the newbie stage, I’ll have to test it out.
