Error: The installation can not be completed.

    Hi,
    Someone please help. I’m getting the following message while I’m trying to install the WordPress using the Fantastico.

    Install WordPress (2/3)

    The installation can not be completed:

    – You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

    Click on the browser’s Back button to fix reported errors.

    do you not already have an install in the root?

    Yes, I had. But due to some problem, all the items in my File Manager were lost and was restored later by my host. Now, I thing everything is deleted, hence, I’m trying to reinstall.

    Please help. If it’s still remaining in my database, how can I remove and reinstall it from scratch.

    I cleared all my old wp-files in my public_html. Then i installed wp 2.7.

    And I get this:
    Install WordPress (2/3)

    The installation can not be completed:

    – You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.
