Static Page theme: Does the shortcode need a functions.php addition?

    My site uses a plugin to initiate custom posts on a static front page. I tried using the shortcode for Ajax Load More on my front page, but it doesn’t load anything. I assume maybe the plugin is not loaded because of the other plugin functionality. Is there code I can add to the functions.php file to initiate shortcode? Or can I load AJAX without it?
