Settings to avoid username error lockout

    What settings do I need to make to prevent being locked out, if I make a typo when entering my Admin username and don’t notice it until after my login attempt is rejected?

    It seems odd that I would be frozen out as I was on my usual PC/IP Address. I assumed that IP was already whitelisted.

    PS I appreciate this plugin. But it sure doesn’t like my typo.

    Hi @ccbrass,

    The version 3.0.4.1 had a bug so that you might be blocked before the number of login fails reached the login limit. This bug has been fixed at 3.0.4.2.

    But unfortunately, the priority of whitelist is lower than that of the login limit. I’ll change those priority at the next version.

    Until then, you can increase “Max number of failed login attempts per IP address“.

    Thank you for addressing this. I had read the update notes yesterday and wondered if you had addressed it there. Appreciate the confirmation.

    I am not particularly skilled at this. So sorry for these basic questions.
    I have updated the Plugin. But it remains inactive. Will I now be able to just activate it, or will my IP address still be identified as blocked?

    My site is being hammered by bots right now from RU attempting to login as Admin. And would like the added protection your Plugin offers.

    Also, in the future, if I personally have several bad login attempts, should I clear the cache on the Plugin? Will that then reset the count back to zero, thus keeping me below the login failure limit?
