# 10422 error:

 * Hey there, about a week ago I started getting this error notification whenever
   customers tried using Paypal Express Checkout:
 * _PayPal DoExpressCheckoutPayment API call failed
    Error Code: 10422 Error Severity
   Code: Error Short Error Message: Customer must choose new funding sources. Long
   Error Message: The customer must return to PayPal to select new funding sources.
 * I can’t find any info about Paypal 10422 error, so I thought I’d ask here. I’m
   using the Paypal for Woocommerce app and running WordPress 4.9.7. My Woocommerce
   and other plugins seem up to date.

 * Yeah, Your customer needs to choose a new funding source because of an issue 
   with the previous payment method they selected; for example, insufficient funds,
   bank decline, and so on.
 * These errors are very rare to see but when ever you see you must know its something
   with their funding source. Here is a [PayPal help article on error 10422 ](https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/why-did-i-get-api-error-code-10422-ts1850)
   for you help.

 * Thanks so much for that link! It’s weird that it says it’s an API issue if it’s
   actually an issue with the funding source, but I’m glad to know it’s not an issue
   with my site.
