Expired Domain and a White Page

My domain expired by one day and all of a sudden my blog went to a white page. I immediately paid the renewal and still, days later, my white page remains. My service provider says I have to reconnect my database to my blog. How do I do this? I can find no details. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
