# 2.8.6.ugrade problem

 * Just tried the upgrade today.Now I get ‘cannot establish connection to the db’
   error.
    deleted everything, then put everything up. Checked the wp-config.php
   file with my backup, everything ok. Checked the server side settings and evrything
   as normal, but still no joy. Any ideas as to what I could try? I can’t get access
   to the admin panels, so I’m limoited to what I can do with ftp and editing files

 * I should add – I first tried doing an auto upgrade which crashed halfway through….
   then I deleted the files and upgraded manually

 * also tried changing the ‘localhost’ setting to the name of the database server
   and now I get the following error
 * Can’t select database
 * We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and
   password is okay) but not able to select the foundobj_fatgitworpdress database.
 *  * Are you sure it exists?
    * Does the user foundobj_2 have permission to use
   the foundobj_fatgitworpdress database? * On some systems the name of your database
   is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_foundobj_fatgitworpdress.
   Could that be the problem?

 * could this be a problem with the authentication keys?

 * just sorted it out, there was a space in the ‘define db – ‘ section of the config
   file

 * I upgraded. Then, I got White Screen of Death.
    Anyone know any solution to this
   please!?
