 * I just installed 3.4.1 across multiple sites, each using different themes and
plugins. I just experienced the following 2 issues across two sites.
 * 1. When adding a new menu item on one site the new item showed up as (Pending).
When I saved with the Pending on the first site it wiped out the entire menu.
Leaving only one menu item. When I tested on the second site it said (Pending)
as well. I did not try to save since I did not want to blow away the other sites
   menu as well.
 * 2. When trying to change the categories of posts they are not saving. The current
categories stick no matter what options I choose and save.
 * Is anyone else experiencing these issues? I am going to check across other sites
and will report if these issues is applicable across all.
 * Noteworthy: I used bluehost simple-scripts tool to upgrade as well as manually
upgraded using the wordpress built in upgrade function.

 * Yes, these two issues are repeatable across all installations of wordpress on
this version. I appreciate any information regarding these two bugs that anyone
can provide. In the meantime I will warn all of my site owners.

 * Thank you. I am amazingly happy that someone else is having the exact same problem
   as me.
 * I am right there with you. It’s weird because I upgraded to 3.4.1 a while ago
I believe. Not today and not yesterday. My 2 websites were running just fine
but now I am literally having the exact same problems as you!
 * If you go to PrimalSmoothies.com or PrimalToad.com you will notice that I have
nothing on the sidebar for one site and just one thing on the other of which
   I did not place there.
 * I thought maybe someone hacked into my account but I can breathe a little.
 * Do you think the problem would be resolved if we installed an earlier version?

 * I just started having problems about 3 hours ago. I just don’t get it. I think
others are too. Something happened today.

 * I just restored my site to a saved copy of v3.2.2 and tested both issues. They
were both there. I tried upgrading to v4. Same issue still there. I am not sure
if this is saying that the issue has been around for a while but I never noticed
   or that something is corrupt.
 * I have found a [year old posts](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/menu-broken-new-menu-items-show-pending?replies=9)
regarding the (pending) menu item issue. They seem to point to a corrupt db.
I browsed my DB, specifically the postmeta table which was identified as corrupt
in the older post and found no issue.
 * PT, glad to hear we are not alone. Hopefully we get a torrent of these confirmation
posts so the issue can get fixed asap!

 * Why is this very repeatable widespread issue getting zero attention?

 * I take it back. I just went back to re-verify that the issue was still there
and everything is working now. Is it safe to deduce that the issue was on the
host and not wordpress? I am scratching my head.
 * Glad things are back to normal!
