Most everything is working well except for a few issues when I try to write new posts. * First, the “Add Media” button no longer works. * Second, the Insert/Edit Hyperlink and Remove Hyperlink button on the kitchen sink no longer work. * Third, I can no longer add tags. If I try to click on “choose from most used tags” nothing comes up. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s). – switching to the unedited default, core-bundled Theme (such as Twenty Twelve, Twenty Thirteen or Twenty Fourteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue. – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F) by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems (because the hooks remain unless plugins completely removed or some plugins stick around in cached files. So by renaming the folder, you break them and force them inactive). – If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the issue, try manually re-uploading all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config. php file and the /wp-content/ directory from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. I have similar anomalies as others. after upgrading to 3.8 none of the menu are listed under appearance/menus. I think the WP team has botched something here for the first time in a decade. The only one that is activated is Akismet.
