 * When trying to save the authentication code after clicking the “authenticate
   with your Google account” button I get the below error:
 * Forbidden
 * You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/admin.php on this server.
 * The page URL is /wp-admin/admin.php?page=yst_ga_settings
 * I am able to manually enter the UA code and save successfully however it would
   be useful to be able to use the dashboard.

 * Further to this, after getting the error above, followed by manually entering
   the UA code, I can now see a dropdown box beside analytics profile, which is
   greyed out. If I untick ‘manually enter UA code’ I can select a profile from
   the dropdown, but if I try to save I get the 403 forbidden error again.

 * Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I have the same problem. Does your
   Google Analytics by Yoast: Settings page have a debug log? Mine does.

 * I am having a similar however I get a 404 when trying to save the profile. The
   plugin is returning this page: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=yst_ga_settings.
 * Has a solution been found?

 * I had the 403 error also. It was a apache server mod security rule that was blocking
   it for me. If you contact your hosting company they may be able to whitelist
   that mod security rule that is blocking yoast. This solved the problem for me.

 * @groundskeepper THANK YOU for the post. I dug into the issue on my end and was
   able to resolve it by updating the apache server mod security rule. I don’t understand
   what this rule is or how you change it, but I sent in a support ticket to my
   hosting company, and they seemed to know what to do.
 * For those of you interested, below is the exact wording of my support ticket.

 * ——————————————————–
    I am trying to configure the Google Analytics by Yoast (
   [https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/))
   WordPress plugin. The plugin fails to authenticate with Google Analytics. It
   as been suggested the issue may be related to apache server mod security rule.
   I am not familiar with this. Would you happen to know where the authentication
   issues lie? When I try to authenticate the plugin my WordPress site returns a
   404. ——————————————————–

 * @groundskeepper & [@hayden69](https://wordpress.org/support/users/hayden69/)
   Thanks
    Worked for me too. I contacted the host provider about “apache server
   mod security rule” the problem is gone.
